Although we rever the 1970s as one of the most influential decades for rock and pop, it didn't get off to a great start. A string of disasters accompanied the turning of the decade: in 1970, The Beatles broke up, and - slightly later - Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix left this mortal coil in a somewhat premature fashion - each joining the infamous 27s Club. However, the 70s recovered and brought us countless rock legends such as David Bowie, Queen, The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and a whole host of legendary names that lived it large throughout this decade of utter decadence. But how much do you really know about the 1970s? Find out with our quiz which explores the excesses, the private lives, and - of course - the music of one of rock's most influential decades.
